Karnataka: ACB raids 9 officials in disproportionate assets cases; cash, gold seized

Teams of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday raided residences and offices of nine officers in connection with disproportionate assets cases at 28 places in 11 districts of Karnataka.

“A team of 52 officers and 172 staff of Anti Corruption Bureau today conducted raids and searches related to disproportionate assets against nine officers at 28 places in 11 districts,” an official of Karnataka unit of ACB told ANI on Tuesday.

As per initial details, cash, jewellery, expensive watches and gold utensils were recovered during ACB's raid at CESCom Superintendent Engineer KM Munigopal Raju's house in Mysuru, Karnataka.

The raids are being conducted by a team of 52 officers and 174 staff of ACB under the supervision of Range SPs, ACB said.

Raids are being conducted in Chikkaballapura, Belagavi, Mysuru, Yadgiri, Bengaluru and Devengere districts. ACB officials said searches are underway in all their residences and offices, apart from the residences of some of their relatives. ACB sleuths have recovered valuables which include movable and immovable properties, gold and silver jewellery.
