Karnataka: '65 MLAs sign campaign to sack Minister Yogeshwar; we will pursue matter after Covid': Renukachary

CM BS Yediyurappa's loyalists and his political secretary have launched another scathing attack against Tourism Minister CP Yogeshwar and signed a campaign against the Minister, demanding action and wanting him to be jailed.

Amid tension in BJP in regard to handling of Covid-19, sex CD involving Ramesh Jarkiholi and minister CP Yogeshwara allegedly trying to unseat CM BS Yediyurappa, Honnahalli MLA and CM's political secretary MP Renukacharya has claimed that as many as 65 legislators have given in writing that Minister CP Yogeshwara should be sacked from the Cabinet.

Renukacharya earlier had called Yogeshwar as 420 and alleged him of cheating the public on the pretext of giving them plots and homes under 'Mega City' projects in the past.

"He should be sacked and arrested and legal proceedings should be initiated against him". Renukacharya was quoted as saying to regional media reporters.

Yogehswar meets Lingayat mutt seers, keeps CM camp guessing

Meanwhile, the minister who has been cornered by a number of leaders in BJP, reached Suttur Mutt in Mysuru on Tuesday. It is said the Mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami from the Lingayat community wields control over leaders including BS Yediyurappa from the same community.

The meeting with Swami is allegedly to influence the CM's decision and prevent him from dislodging Yogeshwar from the Cabinet.

Speaking to the media on the current development, the Minister said that,"Some are trying to project me as a villain. I am suffering. My statements are blown out of proportion and someone has made a mountain out of a molehill."

It is said the Minister who has become a target after his recent Delhi visit, had earlier told the reporters that he had gone to sort out 'personal' issues and also the issues concerning the Karnataka BJP and wanted the central leaders to take stock of the situation.

Although Vijayendra claimed his visit as personal, the timing of the visit generated curiosity among political circles. The leader may meet Central leaders and appraise the development in the state following CP Yogeshwar's recent Delhi visit and the number of MLAs demanding sacking him from the Cabinet. It is said that Vijayendra had assured the MLAs to sort the issue at the earliest.

BJP General Secretary assured that at present there won't be any changes in CM post at the same time he allegedly said he was unsure about CM BS Yediyurappa's future.
