Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has landed in controversy after he described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's phone call to him on Thursday with regard to the Covid-19 situation as PM's "Mann Ki Baat" instead of business.

Prime Minister Modi had reached out to chief ministers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Jharkhand on Thursday about the Covid-19 situation in their states.

According to health ministry data, Jharkhand has 59,532 active Covid-19 cases.

Following the meeting, Jharkhand Chief Minister took to Twitter and criticised the prime minister.

In the tweet in Hindi, when roughly translated to English, Soren said: "Today the respected Prime Minister made a phone call. He only spoke his mind. It would have been better had he spoke about the task at hand and heard about what mattered."
