Jammu Airbase blast: Drone came from across the border, say NIA sources

Two explosions within a gap of five minutes rocked the high security technical area of Jammu airport in the early hours of Sunday. Drones are suspected to be used to target the Indian Air Force Station (IAF) Station Jammu, said sources.
The area was sealed by security forces within minutes. According to sources, two IAF personnel suffered minor injuries. There was no damage to any equipment.
Meanwhile, a NDTV report quoted Jammu and Kashmir police chief Dilbagh Singh saying, a crude bomb was found in Jammu soon after a drone attack on the Air Force base in the city.
"Drones with payload were used in both the blasts at Jammu airfield. Another crude bomb was found by the Jammu police. This IED (Improvised Explosive Device) was received by LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) operative and was to be planted at some crowded place," Singh said.
While security agencies in the area are on their toes following the low intensity blasts at Indian Air Force Station, the Jammu Police have foiled a major terror attack by arresting a terrorist of 'The Resistance Front (TRF) with five kilogram Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Narwal area of the city's outskirts.
According to sources in the police, the Special Operation Group (SOG) team on late Saturday evening arrested a terrorist with explosives.
"The terrorist was arrested from near a prominent shopping mall with arms, ammunition and five-kg IED," the source said.
