New Covid cases under 3 lakh after 25 days; India's recovery rate at 84.8%
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases came down to 3,516,997 from 3,618,458 a day ago.
FollowIndia has reported 281,386 new Covid-19 cases and 4,106 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is the first time in 25 days that the number of new cases has fallen below three lakh cases.
The new cases have taken the total infections to 24,965,463.
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases came down to 3,516,997 from Sunday's 3,618,458.Â
The ministry data suggested that the national recovery rate had improved to 84.81 per cent after the number of people who recuperated from the disease surged to 2,11,74,076.Â
The fatality rate stands at 1.1 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 31,64,23,658 samples had been tested up to May 16, including 15,73,515 in the last 24 hours.
