Meanwhile, women lead a dress rehearsal in Uchana Kalan, Jind a day before their proposed #IndependenceDay 'Tractor Parade'.

A farmer said that around 5,000 vehicles and 20,000 farmers will take part in the parade tomorrow.

The farmers have decided to celebrate the 75th Independence Day as “Kisan Mazdoor Azaadi Sangram Diwas”.

According to a report on The Times of India, Jind BKU district president Azad Singh Palwan was quoted saying, “We will start our tractor parade at 11 am on August 15 from Uchana Kalan town which will pass through the route plan prepared by farmers. Farmers will culminate their parade at cotton mandi of Uchana Kalan after taking out an exhibition of their farming culture and instruments used in farming. We have planned to take out a tractor parade at Khatkar toll plaza, Narwana, Julana and Safidon block in which thousands of tractors and other vehicles will take part. Farmer’s own volunteers will keep a tab on the entire situation until the parade goes on. The parade will give more strength to the agitation as people are still keen to take part in tractor parades.”

“Women will showcase their power as they will be the road on August 15 in their ethnic dress for the tractor parade,” Sikkim Nain Sheokand, BKU (women wing) district president was quoted.

On January 26, tens of thousands of protesting farmers had clashed with the police in New Delhi during a tractor parade to highlight their demands but was marred by violence.

Many of them driving tractors reached the Red Fort and entered the monument, where a religious flag was also hoisted. Over 500 police personnel were injured.
