The Election Commission will announce the dates for election in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry today.
The announcement will be made at a press conference at 4:30 PM.
The poll body has been holding regular meetings to decide on the modalities of conducting elections in four states and a Union Territory.
It also visited the election-bound states and Puducherry to assess the preparedness on the ground.
