Double delight: 58,395 recoveries in single-day, Karnataka gets 2 lakh Covidshield doses, says Sudhakar
Amidst slow vaccine process, Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar on Wednesday informed reporters that the state has got a fresh stock of 2 lakh Covisheld vaccines. Another good news is that Karnataka which was struggling with increasing Covid cases registered a single-day record with 58,395 recoveries.
In a breather to the state government that has been struggling with slow vaccination process, Karnataka on Wednesday received a fresh stock of 2 lakh doses of Covishield vaccines. In addition to this, the state also witnessed 58,395 positive patients testing negative.
Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar took to twitter and confirmed that Karnataka has received 2,00,000 doses of Covishied. "Karnataka received 2,00,000 doses of Covishied today as part of the order placed by state govt. So far the state has received 10,94,000 doses (9,50,000 Covishield & 1,44,000 Covaxin) as part of direct procurement from manufacturers in addition to 1,11,24,470 doses received from GoI." Sudhakar wrote.
The announcement comes as a morale boost among health workers who are tasked to vaccinate the general public. Now Covaxin is already being administered among the public based on available slots, Covishield will also be distributed to districts based on the population and registration.
The minister also expressed happiness over the huge recovery rate for a single day so far in the state.
"Karnataka reports the highest-ever single day recovery with 58,395 recoveries on Tuesday. 30,309 cases were reported in the state today & recoveries have outnumbered the new cases. 8,676 new cases were reported in Bengaluru today while 31,795 people recovered." Sudhakar wrote.
