Cyclone Tauktae: 22 dead, 186 rescued, 53 still missing from Barage P305

New Delhi: Indian Navy on Wednesday said it has recovered 22 bodies from Barge P305, which sunk on Monday night following Cyclone Tauktae in the Arabian Sea and search and rescue efforts for 65 person are still on. 

It also said that a total of 186 survivors of 261 have been rescued so far. 

“188 survivors including two ex tug Varaprada rescued and 22 Brave Natures Victims (BNV) recovered so far. INS Kochi returned to Mumbai with survivors and BNV,” Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal said. 

The search and rescue operation conducted by Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and ONGC continue for 65 personnel, who were onboard Barge P305.

So far a total of 665 persons have been rescued from different vessels as these vessels adrifted in the Sea. 

Apart from Barge P305, the officials of Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard have confirmed all 101 workers on oil rig Sagar Bhushan, 137 personnel on Barge Gal Constructor and 196 persons on Support Station-3 have been rescued.
