New Delhi: Four more people have tested positive for the new and highly infectious strain of coronavirus infection, taking the total number of cases to 29 in the country, said Union health Ministry on Friday.

The new Covid-19 strain has propelled the entire world back to imposing travel restrictions. India has banned flights from United Kingdom following the spread of the new strain and contact-tracing exercise is underway.

The  infected people have been kept in isolation and the fellow travellers and close contacts were also being traced and quarantined.

However, India's Covid-19 recovery rate improved marginally on Friday, standing tall at 96.08%, according to data shared by the Union ministry on twitter.

On Friday 23,181 individuals were discharged after being cured of the infection, taking the total tally of recoveries to over 9.9 million. India continues to have one of the highest rates of recovery globally, the Union ministry added.
