Day after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat asserted that Hindu and Muslim are not different and that the DNA of all Indians is the same, Congress and AIMIM on Monday asked the former to pass on the message to RSS cadre and BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

In a series of sarcastic tweets, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said, "If you force your disciples to follow this thought, Mohan Bhagwat, I will become your admirer."

He further said, "But it's not easy. You people have instilled so much hatred among Hindus and Muslims. It is not easy to remove it. From the Saraswati Shishu Mandir to the intellectual training, the seeds of hatred sown by the Sangh against Muslims are is not easy to remove."

Digvijaya alleged that there was a difference between Bhagwat's words and actions.

'This hatred is the product of Hindutva'

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi lashed out at the ideology of those who resorted to murder in the name of safeguarding Hindutva.

"Bhagwat said those who commit an act of lynching are anti-Hindutva. These criminals would not know the difference between cow and buffalo, but the names of Junaid, Akhlaq, Pehlu, Rakbar, Alimuddin were enough to kill. This hatred is the product of Hindutva. These criminals have the backbone of the Hindutva government," Owaisi said.

"Alimuddin's killers are garlanded by a Union minister; a tricolour is placed over the body of Akhlaq's killer, a maha panchayat is convened in support of those who killed Asif, where a BJP spokesperson asks, "Are we not even allowed to murder? Cowardice, violence and murder are an integral part of Godse's Hindutva thinking. The lynching of Muslims is also the result of this thinking," he added.

'DNA of the people of India is the same.'

Speaking at a book launch event organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch -- the Muslim wing of the RSS -- RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that there is a need to be alert against fear-mongering that the organisation is against minorities or that Islam is in danger in India.

Speaking about reports of violence against minorities by alleged cow vigilantes, the RSS chief, even though cows are revered in India, violence in the name of cow protection is unacceptable.

Warned against attempts to create mistrust within the minority community, he stated that anyone who said that Muslims should not stay in India is not a Hindu.

Bhagwat said that people can't be differentiated on how they worship.

Don't get trapped in the cycle of fear that Islam is in danger in India, he said, adding that the only solution to Hindu-Muslim conflict is dialogue, not discord.
