In a grim reminder of the terror that has claimed countless innocent lives over the decades in Kashmir, India is today observing the 21st anniversary of the barbaric Chittisinghpura massacre.

On this day in 2000, Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists targetted Sikh residents of Chittisinghpura in Anantnag while they were celebrating the Hola Mahalla festival.

The terrorists lined up the villagers and executed 35 Kashmiri Sikhs in front of the gurudwara.

The wounds are yet to heal, the remnants of bullet holes send a shiver down the spines of many even today.

The barbarity was beyond words.

Marking the tragedy, the Indian Army released a video recounting the horror that struck Chittisinghpura that evening on March 20, 2000.
