Chinese President Xi writes to PM Modi, offers help to deal with coronavirus outbreak
In his message, Xi said China is willing to strengthen anti-pandemic cooperation with India, and provide support and help to the country, the report said.

This is the first communication between the two heads since the pandemic outbreak and border standoff in eastern Ladakh last year.Â
As per the Chinese Embassy in India, in his message, "President Xi says, I am very concerned about the recent situation of COVID-19 pandemic in India. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, as well as in my own name, I would like to express sincere sympathies to the Indian Government and people."
"Humanity is a community with a shared future. Only through solidarity and cooperation can countries around the world ultimately defeat the pandemic," said Xi, as per the Chinese Embassy.Â
"The Chinese side stands ready to strengthen cooperation with the Indian side in fighting the pandemic and provide support and help in this regard. I believe that under the leadership of the Indian government, the Indian people will surely prevail over the pandemic," he added.
On April 29, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi wrote to his counterpart S Jaishankar and said that the Chinese side "shares empathy for the challenges facing India and expresses sincere sympathy".
On April 28, China had said its medical suppliers were working overtime to supply 25,000 oxygen concentrators ordered by traders from India.
In a tweet, the Chinese Embassy in India said, "Chinese medical suppliers are working overtime on orders from India. At least 25000 orders for oxygen concentrators have been received in recent days. Cargo planes are under the plan for medical supplies. Chinese customs will facilitate the relevant process."
The bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries hit an all-time low since the 1970s after the Chinese PLA transgressed the Line of Actual Control -- the de-facto border -- in Ladakh.
