Chinese agencies attempted to hack Indian defence ministry websites revealed arrested intruder
The Special Task Force sleuths who arrested a Chinese intruder Han Junwe last week in Malda in West Bengal have tumbled on shocking facts of attempts to hack websites during the probe. Following this development, an alert was issued.
FollowBased on the inputs, the Special Task Force that swooped down a Chinese intruder Han Junwe in Malda in West Bengal for illegally entering India via the Indo-Bangla border have come across shocking details of India's defence sector websites and aerospace companies under threat from China.
As per reports, the intruder who was arrested on June 12 has reportedly revealed to probing agencies that attempts were made to hack various websites of the central government which also include India's defense ministry.
According to reports, the Chinese agencies have allegedly targeted a Bengaluru-based company that is associated with the ministry and the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
This apart, few aerospace companies were also among the targets of these agencies.
"He has said that the Chinese are trying to take a sneak-peek into India's defence system and hence they are trying to hack the websites of the Indian Defence Ministry," a probing officer was quoted as saying.
The investigating agency is also trying to establish the arrested intruder's links with these (Chinese) agencies and the role he is playing in India.
The officials who seized a sophisticated mobile phone and the laptop from the arrested intruder are yet to lay their hands on details from his phone and laptops as it is locked with codes.
