Students and alumni of Chennai-based Padma Sheshadri Bala Bhavan School have accused one of their teachers of making sexual advances and sexually coloured remarks at them.

Social media is flooded with posts calling out Rajagopalan, who teaches Accountancy and Business Studies at the KK Nagar branch of the school.

More and more students are now sharing their harrowing experiences anonymously. Some students alleged that he once circulated a porn site link in a class group.

The accusations sparked strong voices against the school administration online.

The alumni of PSBB have shot off a letter to the school's dean demanding immediate suspension of the accused teacher and an inquiry into the matter.

In the letter, the alumni alleged that Rajagopalan also physically touched students inappropriately with sexual intent.

The letter claimed that at one of the online classes during the lockdown, Rajagopalan came wearing only a towel. The alumni also alleged that the teacher sent WhatsApp messages to students commenting about their photos, made remarks about physical appearance and once even asked a student to go to the movies with him.

The alumni accused Rajagopalan of questioning girl students' character and reputation in front of the class and expressly stating that they are women of easy virtue because they choose to wear sleeveless and non-traditional clothes.

The alumni accused the school management of not taking any action despite complaints from parents.

The school administration has denied the accusations of not acting on complaints.

School officials said that the allegations had not been brought to the management's notice in the past. However, officials said that they have now taken suo motu cognizance of the complaints and will take all necessary steps to address the situation in a free, fair and transparent manner.
