The Centre has sent out teams to Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Manipur to control the spread of Covid-19 cases.

These teams will interact with the state/UT authorities and get a first-hand understanding of the challenges and issues being faced by them.

The teams will support the state efforts towards strengthening containment, surveillance, testing, infection prevention and control measures and efficient clinical management of the positive cases. The Central teams shall also guide in effectively managing the challenges related to timely diagnosis and follow up.

India on Friday reported 46,617 new cases and 853 deaths as per health ministry's updated data. Total recoveries have jumped to 59,384.

Though many states have been showing a declining trend and opening up lockdowns, these 6 states - Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Manipur have been reporting high cases.
