West Bengal Minister Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, Trinamool Congress MLA from Kamarhati, Madan Mitra, and former Mayor Sovan Chatterjee have been brought to the Central Bureau of Investigation office in the 2016 Narada sting case.

Firhad told media persons that the CBI officials forcibly entered his house in the morning and arrested him without notice. The CBI, however, says he has not been arrested yet.

The case pertains to a sting operation conducted by senior journalist Mathew Samuel, which was released on Narada TV's YouTube channel ahead of the 2016 assembly election. The sting targeted top TMC leaders, including ministers and MPs, who accepted cash bribes for favours.

On May 9, West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had given the CBI sanction to prosecute the Trinamool Congress leaders in the case.

The CBI is likely to submit a charge sheet in the case later today. Sources said that the charge sheet may include names of TMC leaders Firhad Hakim, Madan Mitra, Sovan Chatterjee, Subrata Mukherjee and IPS officer SM Mirja.
