Amidst the new Covid-19 strain scare sweeping European nations, many countries have banned international flights to and from UK to contain the spread.

On Monday a 45-year-old Ramchandrapura resident in Bengaluru West returned and was kept under isolation at home and his samples were sent to NIMHANS for genomic analysis to determine if he is carriers of the new virus.

As per reports, eight primary contacts have been traced and efforts are on to trace secondary contacts as well.

In another report, two more residents from Bommanahalli zone who returned from Britian also tested positive. The patients are 35-year-old women and her six-year-old daughter, who have been kept under observation at Victoria Hospital.

Her husband tested negative, however, he has been under home isolation.

The new Covid-19 strain has wreaked havoc in UK and many cases are being reported each day.

Following the advise from technical expert committee CM BS Yediyurappa had announced slew of measures like nine-day night curfew between 11 pm to 5 am from tonight and other guidelines to curb the spread.

The decision was taken as chances are there of public coming out in large numbers on Christmas and New Year.
