In a massive relief for Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, the Bombay High Court has quashed and set aside the notice and demolition issued by the Mumbai civic body BMC for the demolition of her building

In its order, the High Court observed that the action of BMC can only be regarded as an action in deliberate disregard of the rights of a citizen.

According to the court, the impugned notice and the action of demolition by the BMC are actuated by malice.

The court has issued an evaluater to assess the compensation payable to Kangana for the demolition of her building by the BMC.

The High Court also pulled up Kangana, asking her to exercise restraint while airing views on public platforms. At the same time, the court said that 'irresponsible comments made by a citizen are best ignored by a State'.
