Agra: A bomb scare at the Taj Mahal located in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district triggered panic on Thursday after which several tourists were immediately evacuated from the world-renowned monument of love.

An unidentified person called Uttar Pradesh Police and said that some explosive device has been planted inside the monument premises which would blow up soon.

Following the phone call on UP Police's emergency number 112, security agencies went on a tizzy and at once started search operations inside the Taj Mahal.

CISF, Agra Police and Bomb Disposal Squad have reached Taj Mahal to search for the bomb and maintain law and order.

Sources said that the call was reportedly made from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. Efforts are on to trace the caller.

"We have received information from the control room that a man called them up saying that a bomb is kept at the Taj Mahal which will explode soon. The security check is being done around Taj Mahal," Shiv Ram Yadav, SP (Protocol) Agra said, adding that the man also said that the unidentified man claimed that he was discriminated in military recruitment.

All possible locations in and around the Taj Mahal are being checked by the CISF, Agra Police and a bomb disposal squad.
