BBMP bed-blocking: CCB arrests MLA Satish Reddy's aide Babu
The May 4th uncovering of alleged BBMP blocking scam by MP Tejasvi Surya has ended causing more damage to his party MLA's image as Satish Reddy's aide Babu alias Muniraju has been arrested.
FollowThe probe into the alleged BBMP bed-blocking scam took a new twist as the CCB arrested BJP MLA Satish Reddy's aide Babu Muniraju, a resident of Roopena Agrahara.
As per reports, the accused's role in the scam was established by obtaining CCTV footage and also statements from staff as Babu allegedly arm twisted and blocked beds for his people.
Babu is the sixth accused in the scam.
On May 4, MP Tejasvi Surya barged into the South Zone war room along with 3 MLAs including Satish Reddy and took out names of a particular community.
As MP questioned how these people were employed, MLA Ravi Subramanya made a controversial statement asking the BBMP Zonal Officer Tulasi Maddineni 'Are you hiring people for Madarasa or corporation' and echoing similar sentiments Reddy said 'Is this a Hajj Bhavan'.
The MP then had told the media that officials in the war room colluded with private hospitals and blocked beds in private hospitals for money.
Following the episode, the CCB took over the case and arrested Nethravathi, Rohit, Venkat Subba Rao, Manjunath and Punith earlier for their alleged role in blocking beds for benefits.
As per media reports, the arrested Babu is said to be the personal assistant of the MLA.
