Assam: Negative RT-PCR report mandatory for passengers arriving from Mumbai, Bengaluru
"All air travellers from Mumbai and Bengaluru arriving at any airport in Assam need to carry a negative RT-PCR report of test conducted within 72 hours of arrival, with effect from 9th April," news agency ANI said in a tweet.

"All air travellers from Mumbai and Bengaluru arriving at any airport in Assam need to carry a negative RT-PCR report of test conducted within 72 hours of arrival, with effect from 9th April," news agency ANI said in a tweet.
The April 3 order almost coincided with State’s Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claiming “there is no COVID-19 in Assam” and it was unnecessary for people to wear masks.
“Airlines are to allow boarding only to those passengers at Mumbai and Bengaluru who are carrying the negative RT-PCR report,” the order said, adding that those without a satisfactory test report would have to undergo paid Covid-19 testing at the airport.
Both Maharashtra and Karnataka are among the states which have been red-flagged by the Centre over rise in Covid-19 cases. Maharashtra is the worst hit, recording 49,447 new cases of the infection on Saturday.
Maharashtra, Karnataka and six other states contribute to more than 80% of daily Covid-19 cases, the ministry reported. And together with Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Kerala, the 12 states displaying an upward trajectory in the daily new cases, the health ministry reported.
India's total active caseload has reached 6,91,597 and now comprises 5.54% of the country's total infections. A net rise of 32,688 cases recorded in the total active caseload in a span of 24 hours.
