Over 18 months since the Union government curtailed 4G Internet services in Jammu and Kashmir, people in the Union Territory will now be able to enjoy the service.

Confirming the development, J&K government spokesperson Rohit Kansal informed that 4G mobile internet services were being restored across the union territory.

4G Internet Services were suspended in J&K on the midnight of August 5, 2019, when the special status of the then state had been revoked by Parliament.

High-speed internet services were restored in two districts of Ganderbal in Kashmir region and Udhampur in Jammu region in August last year on a trial basis. Now, the services will be restored by midnight across the state.

The decision was taken in a home department meeting in Jammu during which the security apparatus in the Union Territory gave a go-ahead to restoring 4G Internet.
