Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai held a press conference on the Cabinet expansion and said that there will be 29 ministers inducted into the Cabinet. He stressed that the names of the ministers will be made official by Raj Bhavan.

The CM who earlier said that the high command will make calculations and release the list based on caste equations has highlighted that 8 Lingayats, 7 Vokkaligas, 7 OBC, 3 SCs, 1 ST, 1 Reddy community, and one woman are part of Bommai's Cabinet.

No Minister post to BY Vijayendra:

The CM while responding to the question on the fate of BS Yediyurappa's son BY Vijayendra, said he will not be a part of the Cabinet. "BJP Karnataka in-charge called both Yediyurappa and also Vijayendra to tell them the name of Vijayendra will not figure in the list sent to the Governor," said CM Bommai.

'No deputy CM post'

As leaders from Vokkaliga, Valmiki and Kuruba communities were lobbying for the deputy CM post they have received a setback as the party has decided to knock off this post in Bommai's Cabinet.

"This time the high command has decided not to have a deputy CM post and the Cabinet is being formed to give good administration and face elections," he stressed.

Hinting at axing some of the senior leaders from the previous Cabinet, Bommai said the high command has decided to use their experience for party organization.

The CM will chair a Cabinet meeting once the oath-taking ceremony is over.

Meanwhile reports say that Aravind Limbavali, S Suresh Kumar, Jagadish Shetter CP Yoheshwara who were ministers in Yediyurappa Cabinet will not be made ministers this time.
