13 Naxals gunned down in Gadchiroli forest encounter
The encounter lasted an hour. Large quantities of arms and ammunition have been recovered.
FollowC-60 unit commandos of the Maharashtra Police have gunned down at least 13 Naxals in an encounter in the forest area of Etapalli in Gadchiroli
Sandip Patil, Deputy Inspector General of Police-Gadchiroli, said that the encounter began at 4 am following a tip-off that the Naxals were planning to meet in the jungles under the Kotmi outpost of the district.
The encounter lasted an hour. Large quantities of arms and ammunition have been recovered.
A search operation is underway to track down the Naxals who fled into the dense forest.
