Sasikala was accused of bribing Karnataka Director General of Prisons (DGP) Satyanarayana Rao and the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail officials to avail special facilities inside the prison.

DIG Roopa who presented the report on this mismanagement in the central jail was soon transferred to traffic department as commissioner for Road Safety and Traffic.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, July 20, 2017, Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran had gone to central jail to meet Sasikala. However, he was stopped at the police check point near the prison and was told to get permission from senior officials.

It is believed that he was denied permission as the report claims that Sasikala has been allowed more visits than stipulated.

The reports say that she had been allowed 23 visits since being imprisoned in February.

It was also said that she had met nearly 48 visitors.

According to prison rules, a convict can be allowed only two visits each month.
