Abirami Ramanathan and Vishal are making  efforts to bring an end to the issue with closed theaters. Finance minister Jayakumar assured that he would take steps after a discussion with the CM. Along with the theatre owners, Vishal, Nasser and Suriya have met the CM.

Even as the entire country uses one universal tax service, cinema has been imposed with entertainment tax in addition to it. 

With regards to this, the theatre owners announced an indefinite strike. At first, the ticket reservation was stopped. Later, about 1,000 theatres were shut down.
Abirami Ramanathan and Vishal have been trying hard to bring an end to this strike. In the morning Abirami Ramanathan and team met the finance minister Jayakumar. They requested to cancel the entertainment tax. The minister has assured that he would discuss this issue with the CM and take steps. 

In the afternoon, the members of Actors Association such as Vishal, Nasser and Suriya met the CM.

The theatre owners such as Abirami Ramanathan were also present along with them during the meeting. Since no official announcement has been made till now, the strike seems to continue.
