New Chief Election Commissioner to resolve AIADMKs two leaves symbol dispute

Achal Kumar Jyoti is going to be appointed as the next Chief Election Commissioner of Tamil Nadu. It is said that he would take the final call on the disputed two leaves symbol of AIADMK. This has kept everyone guessing.

After the demise of J Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK party split into two different teams.

Due to this separation and disputes between the members the two leaves symbol was frozen by the Election Commission.

In addition to this, the party is in great confusion as there have been complaints that Sasikala cannot be the General Secretary of AIADMK.

The former Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi was the one who was handling the case right from the beginning and hence it was expected that he would soon pass the verdict. But the issue was prolonged.

Zaidi is retiring from the work, and Achal Kumar Jyoti is going to be appointed as the next Chief Election Commissioner.

Achal Kumar Jyoti has worked as the Chief Secretary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s native state Gujarat. This association has left the AIADMK teams in high suspense.

Achal Kumar Jyoti will also retire in January, so the state is unsure whether the case will come to an end before that or it will prolong forever.
