MLA Arukutty shifts base from OPS camp to Palaniswamis

The AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction is suffering a serious setback as the count of MLAs in their team has been reduced to 10.

MLA Arukutty is determined that both the factions will soon merge.

It was MLA Arukutty who first joined the O Panneerselvam’s faction right after the split in AIADMK party. From then on he was very active in the team.

But Arukutty earned his party’s ire when he thanked the Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy during an Assembly session for implementing the welfare schemes in his Goundampalayam constitution.

Therefore on July 23, 2017, he met and spoke to the Chief Minister who had gone to his hometown, Salem.

Following the meeting, it was announced that Arukutty had joined the CM’s faction.

Now the AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction is suffering a serious setback as the count of MLAs in their team has been reduced to 10.

Meanwhile, the count of AIADMK Amma faction has been increased to 123.

The list of MLAs in OPS faction includes S Semmalai, SS Saravanan, Manoharan, Manickam, SP Shanmuganathan, Pandiarajan, OK Chinnaraj, Arunkumar and Manoranjitham.

Speaking to media persons, MLA Arukutty said, “The AIADMK followers wish that the two factions should merge. If only the Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and O Panneerselvam speak over the phone, the dispute will be settled. I will soon take that effort. During the presidential election, they both were sitting next to each other. They don’t have any difference of opinion between them. Good governance is being provided under the leadership of Edappadi Palanisamy.”
