Guess who will surprise Abdul Kalams brother for his 100th birthday

Late president Abdul Kalam had a last wish, to celebrate the 100th birthday of his elder brother Mohammed Muthu Meera Lebbai Maraikayar. His wish may finally be fulfilled by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. However, that is not the only surprise that the premier may have for Maraikayar when the former arrives next Thursday for the second death anniversary of Abdul Kalam.

Kalam's brother turned 100 last November, but there was no celebration since the family was still mourning the death of the family's favourite son. However, grand-nephew APJ Sheik Saleem, speaking to the Deccan Chronicle, said, "We gave Muthu Meera thatha the case of perfume that Kalam thatha had preserved locked in his cupboard for presenting at the birthday function. He had kept it locked for quite some time hoping to surprise his elder brother, whom he dearly loved and adored."

Incidentally, Saleem had also visited Narendra Modi, requesting him to preside over the final session of the Remembrance Week on July 27. He is also likely to visit Kalam's house and wish Kalam's elder brother.

The PM is also likely to flag off the Kalam Rath, which will travel across the remotest villages in 15 states and then finally reach the Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 15, which is Kalam's birthday. The bus with a 'Vision:2020' slogan painted across will have the patriot's speeches, videos, photographs, especially for students.
