Drawing inspiration from Kochi Metro, ‘free cycle service’ will soon to be implemented at Chennai metro stations.

It has already been announced that many new plans will be implemented for the better service of Chennai Metro. Following that announcement, the government has planned this new initiative to provide free bicycles in the railway stations.

From the railway station, the cycle can be taken to any surrounding area within a span of 5 kilometers. In order to avail this service, one should send a SMS to a mobile number which is yet to be announced. In reply to the text, a password will be sent to the person and by showing the password one can borrow the cycle from the station.

It is not mandatory to return the cycle at the same station, it can be returned to any nearby stations. In Kerala, this service was launched by Modi. It is said that Tamil Nadu would soon implement this project.
