At Kamalalayam, the head office of BJP in T Nagar, the party’s state president Tamilisai Soundararajan has held a meeting to spread awareness on GST.
With regards to the awareness programme, she introduced a web portal service on GST and also an app about the presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind. The state vice president P.T Arasakumar and secretary Karu Naagarajan were also present in the event.
Following this Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “We are spreading awareness that GST is purely a tax reduction service. Through the website and by meeting people directly we have planned to spread the awareness in the following days. We have decided to visit the economically backward places first. Following that criteria, we have selected 10 places in Chennai. We are in the process choosing such economically backward places throughout Tamil Nadu. We are also planning to train interested people as GST advisors. Doing so would create lakhs of employment opportunities. Basic computer knowledge is enough to learn this course.”

She further added, “The attack on the Kathiramangalam villagers is highly condemnable. The government should not carry out repression against the common man. I see that some people are trying to make use of this uneasy situation. The oil leakage would do no harm to the ground water. Tamil Nadu government should send the water sample for testing and prove the public that it is of no harm”.
