AIADMK is not a slave of the Centre, but needs it for TN's development: Palaniswami

While addressing a public meeting during the MGR birth centenary celebrations, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K Palaniswami lashed out at the DMK leader MK Stalin, saying that the Tamil Nadu government is not a slave of the Centre, but is 'coordinating' to implement development schemes for the betterment of the state.

He said, "some portray us as a slave of the Central government, but we are not bearing ‘koojas (milk pot)’ for the Centre; we are only coordinating with the Central government to implement development schemes for Tamil Nadu. We are also working for the growth of Tamil Nadu by bringing better schemes here.”

Questioning DMK's role in the development of the state, he said, "AIADMK was working for better economic growth of the state.The AIADMK was never really part of a Central government, he said and asked what had the DMK, as partners of the Central coalition for long years, done for Tamil Nadu. Only the DMK's first family prospered.:

Meanwhile, Panneerselvam also warned the rebel leader TTV Dhinakaran against hurling baseless charges against the chief minister and himself. He said, "now that both of us have come together on a principled stand not to let family dynastic politics gain ground in Tamil Nadu.”

He also said that former CM Jayalalithaa frequently used to tell him how she would not let Dhinakaran enter Poes Garden. Panneerselvam also said that he would not hesitate to reveal the truth about Sasikala and her nephew if they continue to provoke him.
