A comment on Vikram Vedha starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathy

Filmmaker couple, Pushkar–Gayathri, has pioneered in bringing the art of dark comedy to Tamil film industry. Their first two experiments are Oram Po and Va-Quarter Cutting. About 7 years later, they have made a comeback with Vikram Vedha which is unusually good. Though the film is based on the basic theme cat-rat chase, the couple has made it so interesting through their astonishing screenplay.

Each shot reflects its hard work and intelligence.

It is not an exaggeration if we say that Vikram Vedha has become one of the noteworthy creations in Tamil cinema. No words to appreciate the talent of the directors who have made the modernized version of ancient tale Vikramaditya.

They have created this movie in such a way that it shows respect to the intelligence and insights of the audience. Vikram (Madhavan) is an honest and talented police official. He is an encounter specialist too. In order to arrest a notorious rowdy Vedha (Vijay Sethupathi), Vikram and his team has been striving hard for several years. While on such attempt, some of Vedha’s gang members are getting killed. That is when an innocent victim’s corpse was also found amidst them. In a very casual and eloquent way, the twist is unraveled.

With the natural dialogue delivery and mannerism, actor Vijay Sethupathi is said to have attracted the audience. Madhavan’s self confidence to do this character should be appreciated. This movie also projects the complications and conflicts between husbands and wives who work in the same field. It seems to be the reflection of the directors’ real life experience as married couple.
