If we believed the figures, Weise would now be the fastest bowler on the planet.

He would have beaten  Shoaib Akhtar, who clocked 161.3 kmph against England during the 2003 World Cup and has been the fastest recorded delivery till date.

The bizarre incident happened during the third over of the Knights' innings. After the crowd and players had been taken aback, they later knew that there was some technical glitch, which showed Wiese delivering at 173.8 kmph.

This is not the first time such thing has happened on the field of cricket. A few months back, South African pacer Morne Morkel was mistakenly recorded for bowling at 173.9 kph.

Although Weise bagged two wickets, he could not stop the Knights from posting a massive total of 185 on board. He also played a crucial role with the bat by playing a 15-ball 34 runs knock to chase down a total of 186.
