With just one day away from the start of the second season of TNPL, the good news that has come across is veterans backing up the league. Mathew Hayden recently promoted the event by wearing Lungi as a localite of Chennai. Bret Lee will be making his entry as a commentator during the live matches.
As the saying goes – ‘Wine gets better with age,’ veteran cricketers from Mathew Hayden to Kris Srikkant are backing the Tamil Nadu Premiere League (TNPL) to make the T20 league an entertaining affair.

Mathew Hayden who has been recognised as localite in Chennai, since his tie up with Chennai Super Kings, is part of TNPL and he is actively promoting the league. Coming all the way from Australia, Hayden changed his attire by wearing a ‘Lungi’ two days ago during the first promotion of TNPL.
Kris Srikkant, a veteran former Indian cricketer and a popular commentator is hoping that this year’s TNPL would witness more Washinton Sundars and T Natarajans.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, Srikkanth said, "I was amazed by Washington's show. Even people like MS Dhoni and Smith must have been taken aback. He was a completely unknown commodity before IPL, and he was bowling the opening overs with a brilliant economy rate. It's due to the exposure TNPL gave him. We will hopefully see more Washingtons and Natarajans coming through."
Joining his hand with his former national team mate Hayden, Brett Lee will be part of the commentary box. Lee was part of 2017 IPL commentary box and made his mark by his sense of humour. Making his debut in TNPL as a commentator, Lee will be inspiring many young talents off the field.
Muttiah Muralitharan is another legend who will be part of TNPL. Murali will be mentoring VB Thiruvallur Veerans for the entire season. A young team like Veerans will be getting inputs from former Sri Lankan spinner.
