English football giant Manchester United might be suffering from a league title drought for the last eight seasons. However, it remains the most successful English club, having won record 20 league titles.

Meanwhile, the owners of United, the Glazers, have suffered a severe backlash from the fans for their controversial involvement in the now-scrapped European Super League. Consequently, United’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool last weekend was called off after protesters stormed Old Trafford.

Nearly a week since, the Glazers have finally opened up on the same. In a long letter to United fans, they have once again apologised to the United fans and have stated that sustainable investment would be made for the betterment of the club, including upgrading Old Trafford and backing club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær with enough funding in the transfer market.

“We have supported sustained investment in the team over many years, and that will continue this summer. We recognise that we will need to significantly increase investment in Old Trafford and our training complex to ensure that the club’s facilities remain among the best in Europe. As part of this, we will consult with fans on investments related to the stadium and the matchday experience,” read the letter from Glazers.

“I want to reassure you that my family and I care deeply about Manchester United. Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important trophies, playing entertaining football with a team comprised of top-quality recruits and some of the world’s best homegrown talent. Under Ole, we feel we are absolutely on the right track,” it added.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that United has potentially identified three transfer targets and plans of signing one of them as ‘marquee signing’. As for the three, they happen to be Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) and Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain).

“Obviously, there are a few; there are probably three who are available who are of the level that Manchester United would covet. One would be Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur, another would be obviously Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund, and the third would be Kylian Mbappe,” said Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window podcast.
