One of India's best-known strikers, I M Vijayan will play an antagonist in Mammootty's upcoming flick 'The Great Father'.
The former professional footballer will play the character Anto. The movie is directed by Haneef Adeni. 'The Great Father' has Sneha as the heroine along with Mia, Malavika Mohanan and child artist Sara Arjun play prominent roles.
'The Great Father' is slated for release in December.
Vijayan made his debut in 'Shantham,' a 2001-release directed by Jayaraj. The film had won a National Award. After retiring from the game in 2003, Vijayan appeared in some Malayalam movies and Tamil films.
Last year the actor proved his mettle as a basketball player when he helped his team win the All Kerala Veterans Basketball Tournament held in 2015.
