Dalit face of Congress in Kerala calls it a casteist den

When compared to other states where caste-based discrimination is still in force, the Congress in 'progressive'  Kerala fairs worse when it comes to its attitude towards Dalits,  blames Congress leader  Kodikkunnil Suresh MP.

While launching a sharp attack on the Congress leadership in Kerala for its deplorable casteist mentality, the former union minister stated he was hopeless about the party's recovery from its discriminatory attitude towards Dalits and tribes.

Caste discrimination is rooted in the minds of many leaders in Kerala. It is a reality, and I don't think that this would change, Suresh said. He lashed out at the leadership for keeping the Dalits and tribals away from key positions. But in Karnataka, Bihar and Haryana, things are better, he noted.

Even in other states where casteist hegemony is still in force, Dalits had made it to the Congress leadership and decorated top posts including chief ministership. But in Kerala, this is not the state of affairs in the party, Suresh regretted.
