Bhutanese woman molested in Alappuzha

As the country is yet to recover from the shock of the Bangalore molestation, a  Bhutanese woman was attacked in broad daylight in Alappuzha on Thursday.

The young Bhutanese woman, who is doing an internship in an environmental organisation at Alappuzha, was allegedly molested when she was walking down a narrow lane in the town at around 10 am. A man approached her in a bike and assaulted her.

The victim told police that she raised an alarm prompting the unidentified man to escape the scene. In shock, she failed to note down the number of the motorbike. A case has been registered against the unidentified man for violating the modesty of women. Though the police examined the CCTV footage of a nearby bank, the registration number of the bike could not be identified.  Investigation is on to nab the culprit.
