Actor Mohanlal is all praises for Modi and demonetization but kicks up a storm

Extending his support for Prime Minister Modi's demonetisation drive, actor Mohanlal has courted a controversy in Kerala.

The actor's comments on his blog that if people can wait in front of liquor outlets, movie theatres and places of worship why can't they show patience to wait in front of banks has not gone down well with some politicians in Kerala.

Congress legislator VD Satheesan MLA in his Facebook post said while showering praises for Modi; the actor has forgotten the sufferings of a common man and the actor's remarks is an insult to those ill-fated Indians who have to beg in front of banks.

"The actor should have shown the sense to differentiate between people who line up in front of liquor outlets and those who queue up before banks to get a few money from their life time earning," said Satheesan.

Congress MLA VT Balram who had initially supported the currency ban took a dig at Mohanlal by dubbing his blog "The Complete Actor" as "The Complete Disaster".

While penning his thoughts on his blog "The Complete Actor" Mohanlal had hailed Prime Minister Modi's demonetisation drive a bold 'Surgical Strike', the actor had said that Modi's speech had all signs that the move was made after a deep understanding of India's economic problems.

Giving a big salute to a virtuous India and demonetisation, the actor said there is a parallel world of black money and corruption flourishing in our society behind which anti-national activities are thriving, and Modi's call to scrap the Rs 500 and Rs 1000  notes is a surgical strike to eliminate these forces. He had also said that like many others the demonetisation had affected film industry also, but they were bearing with it for a better tomorrow.
