Toddler severely injured after falling off escalator in Srirampur metro station Bengaluru on ventilator Hasini

Bengaluru: A toddler fell from an escalator on to the road at Srirampura Metro station in Bengaluru. The child Hasini fell from a height of 50 feet. She was put on ventilator at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. The incident occurred at 8:15pm on Sunday. According to latest reports the child has succumbed to head injuries at NIMHANS hospital in Bengaluru.

She was referred to National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) for further treatment as her condition was critical.

One-and-a-half-year-old Hasini was the daughter of Jayachandra from Prakash Nagar in Bengaluru.

Accompanied by her grandmother, her grandfather was carrying Hasini on his left arm while moving down the escalator. Unfortunately, her grandfather lost his balance and Hasini fell through a gap beside the escalator from a height of 50 feet on to Mahakavi Kuvempu road where vehicles were moving. She fell in front of a two-wheeler. However, the motorist applied brakes just in time. The severely injured Hasini was taken to KC General Hospital.
