KSRTC's flybus: Karnataka districts become easily accessible from Bengaluru airport
After the success of the KSRTC's flybus that is taking passengers directly to Mysuru, Manipal, Kundapura and Kodagu, now direct buses are available to head to Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davanegere, Ananthapur and Kadapa from Kempe Gowda International Airport
Bengaluru: You can now directly reach Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere, Ananthapur and Kadapa from Kempegowda International Airport Limited, Devenahalli in Bengaluru as Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will soon operate its 'flybus' to take passengers to these respective destinations.
According to officials, the decision was taken after the positive response from passengers travelling to Mysuru, Manipal, Â Kundapura and Kodagu route from Bengaluru airport. So far, over 7.4 lakh passengers have travelled in the flybus and the KSRTC has earned over Rs 54 crore since its inception five years ago.
"Last year, the corporation witnessed over 2.26 lakh passengers using 15 such buses and earned a revenue of Rs 17 crore plus. A profit of Rs 5 crore was recorded. Encouraged by this development and demand from passengers going to these places from the airport in Bengaluru, KSRTC decided to add more services," said a senior KSRTC official.
