Proposes to revise Information Technology (IT) Policy

In an effort to attract investments in the Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, the state government proposes to revise Information Technology (IT) Policy. Helping of Startups in Bengaluru City area by strengthening the “Incubation Centre” has been proposed. A fully equipped K-Tech innovation hub is set up at Tumakuru at a cost of Rs.7 crore to encourage budding entrepreneurs.

 H D Kumaraswamy announced that a new industrial policy will be brought out for attracting investment. He also announced to spend Rs 110 crore to continue the scheme of "compete with China" scheme during the year 2019-20.

The Karnataka government proposes to organise “Global Capital Investment Conference” in January 2020. The government also plans to develop industrial areas at Arasikere in Hassan district, Nagamangala in Mandya district, Chittapur in Kalaburagi district, Mulavad in Vijayapura district, Kanagala in Belagavi district and Madhugiri in Tumakuru district through Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board.

A number of people suffering from cancer have gone up in recent years. Tumkur district hospital will have a Cancer Hospital to treat patients. This is being established at Rs 60 crore. Mangaluru, Tumakuru, Vijayapura, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Bagalkot, Chikkamagaluru, Haveri , Kolar and Chikkaballapura to get centres to conduct mammogram and papsmear tests.
