Masterchef Australia: Indian origin Justin Narayan wins competition, takes home Rs 1.8 Cr
The results of Masterchef Australia are out, and it's a proud moment for Indians as Indian-origin Justin Narayan bagged the winning position.
FollowJustin Narayan, a 27-year-old pastor from Western Australia, become the second Indian-origin contestant to win the Materchef Australia. Narayan bagged a reward of $2,50,000 (Rs 1.86) crore by beating the fellow contestants Kishwar Chowdhary and Pete Campbell.
Narayan blew the mind of judges by cooking Indian dishes like Indian Chicken curry, pickle salad, charcoal chicken with toum and flatbread.
Shortly after being declared the winner, Narayan took to his Instagram and wrote, "Find people that believe in you. Back yourself. Go hard and hopefully you'll surprise yourself! Whosoever's reading this, I love you (sic)."
Narayan said his Fijian and Indian heritage influenced his cooking during the show, and he also credited his mother for being the biggest inspiration.
Narayan dreams of owning a restaurant that will serve Indian dishes that he grew up eating. He also wants to educate underprivileged children living in India' slums with a part of his earnings.
