Indian Railways approves a third Vande Bharat Express between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar via Udhampur, adding capacity and more travel options on the popular Jammu-Kashmir rail corridor.

The Jammu-Srinagar rail corridor is set for another boost as Indian Railways has approved a third Vande Bharat Express between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar via Udhampur. The move is expected to increase seat availability and give passengers more flexibility on a route that has witnessed strong demand.

Third Vande Bharat Service Approved

The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has given the green light for a new train service. This was announced in a letter shared by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh. The new train will run as numbers 26407 and 26408. It will also stop at a station named after Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan in Udhampur.

The current Vande Bharat trains are really full. To deal with this, the railways have also increased the number of coaches on the existing trains from 16 to 20, which means they can now carry even more people.

Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Route and ,Travel, Time

The Vande Bharat train currently runs on the 269-kilometer route from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar, taking about 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete the journey. Some of the main stops along the way are Udhampur, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Reasi, and Banihal.

The new fast train link has made it easier to travel between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley. People in Udhampur will now have a faster way to travel because the new service is going to stop there.

What Passengers Can Expect

Having an extra service will give people more options when they're planning their trips to Jammu and Kashmir. This is especially helpful during busy times when it's hard to get a seat - with more services, it's more likely you'll be able to find one.

Vande Bharat trains offer modern passenger amenities, including air-conditioned coaches, charging facilities and onboard Wi-Fi, subject to availability. The relatively short journey time also makes the service suitable for travellers planning short visits between Jammu and Srinagar.

What Travellers Should Know

When the details for the new service come out, it's a good idea for passengers to check the official schedule and see if they can book a spot. Since the existing trains are really popular, it's probably a good idea to book your ticket early, especially if you're traveling during a busy time.

The launch of the third Vande Bharat train is a big step forward for train travel between Jammu and Srinagar. It will help meet the growing demand for rail travel in this region, which is getting more popular by the day. This new train will add more seats on a route that's already very busy, making it easier for people to move around.
