RSS workers attack BJP leader Kochi 4 arrest Vennala Sajeevan hospital

BJP state council member Vennala Sajeevan has been hospitalised with a fractured leg after RSS activists allegedly broke into his house near Palarivattom on Monday morning and attacked him with iron roads.

The arrested are Laljeevan (34), the RSS chief in Thrikkakara, and Sangh workers Vyshak (25), Sarath (25) and Rejeesh (28). Police ruled out political reasons behind the attack, saying a clash between Sajeevan and a relative of one of the RSS workers earlier led to the attack

"As per initial probe, it is the personal feud between Sajeevan and RSS workers which led to the attack. We will probe whether there is any conspiracy behind the attack," TOI quoted assistant commissioner K Laljy as saying.

However, it is understood that Sajeevan had given a statement against a few RSS workers in a police case. Police have charged the arrested under sections 452 (trespass) and 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) of IPC.

The attack took place after the RSS workers attended a meeting to commemorate RSS’s 50th anniversary.  Sajeevan was a former RSS worker.
