Lingayats no more find refuge in the Congress party

After all the support that was accorded to the Lingayats by the Congress party during elections, by providing the community a separate religion status, it seems like the party is no more lending their support to them. The main agenda of Congress behind providing the Lingayats the special religion status, who have an estimated weight-age of 20% of Karnataka's population, was to gain a huge chunk of votes in return.
