Central Government clears environmental permit for Industrial Park in Chamarajanagara

The Central government has cleared environmental permit for setting up an Industrial Park at Chamarajanagar district. This will enable employment for 17,000 people. The proposed park will be set up at Kallabella and Badanakuppe in an area of 1460 acres, reports Kannada Prabha. The Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board will be developing the Industrial Park.

The officials at the Central government said the Central Environment Ministry has sanctioned the environmental clearance for the Park subject to conditions. It has made it mandatory to set up Special Purpose Unit for implementing environment safety regulations, supervision and implementation. Along with it, the Centre has also instructed to get clearance from the State Pollution Control Board.

The proposed Industrial Park will be established at a budget of Rs 90 crore and provide employment opportunity for 17,000 people. No case has been filed against this project in the court. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had laid the foundation stone for this project two years ago.
