BMTC to have Aadhaar based attendance

The Bengaluru Mahanagara Transport Corporation (BMTC) is planning to introduce a new attendance registering system based on Aadhaar.  BMTC employs 36,000 staff and to bring all under one system the new system will be introduced, reported Kannada Prabha.

Currently BMTC has biometric attendance registration system in its Head Office at Shanthi Nagar. The rest of workshops, training centres and other units continue to have the old book signing system.  BMTC is planning to set up biometric device in all its units and link it to Aadhaar. This will be interlinked to the Intelligence Transport Solutions (ITS) at the Head Office to keep track of all employees.  This will also enable easy accessibility, and hence it has been decided to install the new system, V Ponnuraj, Managing Director, BMTC, told Kannada Prabha.
